Shamefully, I have been budgeting in excel sheets over many years of my adult life. I think most of you are doing the same right now.
Well as you get more responsibilities in life putting the bare minimum to a very inaccessible sheet just doesn't cut it. I think I was on my 20th budget sheet as I lost the previous ones one way or another.
Budgeting has always been a sit-down with the computer and work on your sheets exercise once a month. Doing some sheet editing on mobile, haha!
The easiest option?
My bank offers some tools to show my spending, even receipt tracking, let me have a look.
Terms and conditions, hmmm I already have an agreement with my bank, what terms now? Let's actually read them.
In normal speak:
"We can and will use your data, we will use it for marketing purposes and try to sell you more focused stuff as well as sharing your data with 3rd party marketing houses and the retailer who sold you the product in the first place and to whoever offers to buy it and your blood donation will be sent to Satan HQ for sampling...."
I have more than one bank, one card, types of cards and not everything I do is digital, I try to shop with cash from my local as much as possible.
Cobbler's children have no shoes
I design-build and secure digital platforms for a living. I think it is time I do another simple adult-life tool that does the job, doesn't mess with my data! but goes a bit extra like allowing me to see trends.
As always, I decided to share the goods as we are walking on the shoulders of the giants!
Well, this is the 3rd tool now all developed for personal or community use with privacy, openness, and security as founding stones.
Budget to join HouseHunt, ShopLocal brothers-sisters.
I thought it is time to resurrect my old blog and put the family together for the good of the people with many more like minded children to come!
